Robert C. Hendrix
Robert C. Hendrix has a diverse background in leadership, education, advocacy, and community service. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran (Sergeant E-5, Personnel Chief), he’s worked as an automotive machinist, as a welder, in wood mills, and in housing construction. He’s held positions of vocational skills instructor (work-activity center), nightshift floor supervisor (sheltered workshop), lead floor supervisor (sheltered workshop), and residential training facility manager. With a strong commitment to education, Robert earned B.S. degrees in both English and in Secondary Education and pursued graduate studies in both special education and in psychology.
Robert was a secondary English teacher and a special education teacher (K-12) in multiple school districts. For a time he was also a final review editor for a publishing company. Passionate about community involvement, he advocated for military veterans while serving as secretary and spokesperson for the Eugene Veterans Advocacy Council. He was on the executive board of his neighborhood association, representing it in the city’s Neighborhood Leaders Council while participating in developing community housing and homelessness policies. Robert is proud and humbled to have been a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and to be a co-founder of Guarding The Way Fellowship.
